Common Questions
Do staff have to do anything differently?
No. Nurses speak the way they already think about a resident — no scripts, no forms, no structured input required. Niva understands natural clinical language and organises it into the right note format automatically.
Which EHR systems does Niva integrate with?
Niva integrates directly with MatrixCare and PointClickCare — the two most widely used EHR platforms in skilled nursing and long-term care. Notes, vitals, and clinical documents submit directly into your existing system. Nurses never need to log into a separate system or copy and paste anything.
What happens if our facility uses a different EHR?
If your facility uses a different system, contact us at hello@niva-care.com. We are actively expanding to additional EHR platforms and may be able to support your system sooner than you expect.
Is Niva HIPAA and PHIPA compliant?
Yes. Niva operates under a Business Associate Agreement and follows all HIPAA and HITECH requirements for handling protected health information. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not store completed notes — once submitted to your EHR, the note lives in your system, not ours.
How long does onboarding take?
Most facilities are fully onboarded within one week. Setup involves connecting to your EHR system, and a 30-minute orientation session with your nursing staff.
